Before embarking on his legal career, Aleš Avbreht gained experience in the business sector as an independent legal advisor – assistant to the chief executive director for commercial law at a large company. 

His work focuses primarily on commercial law, public procurement law, and public–private partnerships. He regularly advises management and supervisory bodies of companies. As lead counsel, he has headed numerous complex purchase and sale transactions, mergers and corporate restructurings. For many years, he has participated as a lecturer and moderator at professional events in the fields of commercial law, corporate governance and public procurement, and he is also a certified supervisory board member with the Slovenian Directors’ Association.
